Take Advantage of the Summer to
Learn Beyond the Classroom

- Use your LBC reports when preparing for interviews or writing applications for internships, jobs, and graduate and professional schools.
- Take advantage of the summer months to build your portfolio: job shadow, volunteer in your community, join a diversity organization, and get to know people who are different from yourself
- Submit LBC reports on activities you completed during the school year.
- If you have submitted a report, check and see if you have been asked to supply more information. If you find that you have received “0” points on a report, click on your score and you will see what questions you have been asked to answer. Resubmit your report with the required information so that your LBC points can be updated.

| Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, has a rich history influenced by more than 800 years of Danish settlement. Copenhagen is rare in that it combines the economic, scientific, and cultural life of a modern city with a relaxed, small town atmosphere. Copenhagen is the seat of Danish Parliament, the central government, international, organizations, research libraries, national museums of art and history, and the national media. It is the center of musical and cultural life. Students may take advantage of the city's superior transportation system to get around town. Trains and buses run day and night. DIS administrative and classroom buildings are located in the heart of Medieval Copenhagen. Facilities include but are not limited to a reference and student library, student lounges, computer labs, a student information desk, and student support services.
DIS offers strong students the unique opportunity to study in Copenhagen and combine their studies with courses in psychology, bioethics, environmental studies, and European history, culture and politics.

| The WISP undergraduate leadership team is preparing the details for an exciting and engaging 2022-23 academic year! We've determined our monthly topical science and life skills-based events and working on learning outcomes and content. We'll be partnering with Graduate WISPers this fall for a joint event. Mentors selected for next year, please reply to a short summer survey sent this week to your email regarding your return to WISP and an invitation for you to share your Science involvement during our September event. We look forward to learning from you! Committee chairs will be meeting in July to begin discussing a plan of action. Incoming mentees receive their housing assignments this week and our expectations survey to join WISP. Teams and pairs will be sent via email and Google Drive in mid-August. Enjoy your summer and practice those open ended questions and listening skills!

Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 9:00 am - Marketing Your Research Experience.
Conducting research develops many skills and highlighting those
skills, experiences, and results is key for leveraging the hard work you
have put into your project when applying for additional research
projects, internships, graduate programs, and/or jobs. Learn how to
market yourself with a focus on your research experiences on your resume/CV, in your interviews, during networking events, and on your

STUDENT APPLICANTS |

Discovery Park District has posted new research projects for Fall 2022
as part of the Discovery Park Undergraduate Research Internship (DURI). Undergraduates can see the current list of DURI projects and apply for the fall session on the DURI website.
The student application deadline is July 21. Faculty project
supervisors will review all eligible student applications before making
final selections. Students will be notified of their acceptance after
that date.

The OUR provides 1-credit online courses for students who want to get involved in research (GS19501/ILS180), those who are actively involved in research (GS29501/ILS280 and GS39501/ILS380), and those applying to graduate or professional school (GS49501/ILS480).
